The wedding grooms will accompany and assist the bride and groom during the ceremony by bringing the objects necessary for the ritual of marriage, and in the case of the principal godparents, after the wedding will continue to support them spiritually ensuring that they have a harmonious marriage.
The role of the godparents is very important in all ceremonies, but especially in the religious, where it seeks to consecrate the union through deep spiritual beliefs. In them, the company of the community and the closest ones becomes an essential support, which directly translates into the work of the godparents and matrimony of marriage.
In the case of the Catholic tradition there are several options to accompany godparents, and the main thing is to ask in the parish how many godparents can be officially counted in the ceremony.
The number of godparents who can choose varies, if they have a group of six or seven people nearby can choose them all. Usually, three godparents and four godmothers are chosen.
Ring Godfathers:
It is common to choose a couple close to the bride and groom. The couple will give you the rings during the ceremony as a symbol of love and fidelity.
Godfathers of tie:
It can be a marriage or two single people. It is believed that if you choose a marriage that works very well, it will transmit your good luck.
Godfathers of veiling:
They are in charge of accompanying the couple on the altar and acting as witnesses, signing the marriage records. Sometimes they are even mentioned by the parish priest to the marriage talks.
Branch godmother:
She is the one who is in charge of holding the bouquet of the bride while she is at the altar and signs the minutes.
Godfathers of the Bible:
They are in charge of carrying a Bible to be blessed by the father or pastor on the day of marriage.
