The sacrament of Confirmation is one of the three sacraments of Christian initiation. The same word, Confirmation that means to affirm or consolidate, tells us a lot.

The form of this sacrament, words that accompany the anointing and the individual imposition of the hands "Receive by this sign of the cross the gift of the Holy Spirit" (Catec 1300). The cross is the weapon that a Christian has to defend his faith.

According to the Code of Canon Law (c. 889,1): "Every baptized person, not yet confirmed, can and should receive the sacrament of Confirmation."
